LAST UPDATED: June 18, 2020, 2:30 p.m. EDT: Horizon Forbidden West, the sequel of Horizon Zero Dawn will be made available on PlayStation 5 in 2021. Director Mathijs de Jonge confirmed this news with a new video, he posted on youtube.

According to director Mathijs de Jonge Horizon, Forbidden West will be “aiming to release the game next year in 2021”

While giving details about the game, Mathijs de Jonge talks of several new features such as “virtually” no loading screens, travel, booting up the game, and restarting levels to take place quickly. The new video footage released by the game director doesn’t show any new graphics of the game but Forbidden West is more detailed than the previous game and also offers a larger map — he said.

Horizon Forbidden West is a post-apocalyptic open-world action game that happens in the 31st century where humanity is living in a primitive existence on Earth. Horizon Forbidden West is starring a young female as the main character whose tribe was attacked by unknown warriors. She steps out from the tribe to track the attackers and thus the games begin.

It is also said that Aloy (Ashly Burch) and her associate Sylens (Lance Reddick) will return in Horizon Forbidden West, the sequel of Horizon Forbidden down, launched in February 2019. Since it’s launch the company has sold more than 10 million copies of the game. You will be exploring a new frontier of the 31st century of America.

This game will feature “dozens of new machines” to scan, study, and fight — said Mathijs.  The names of the three machines are the turtle-like Shell-Snapper, the flying Sunwing, and the mammoth-like Tremor Tusk. You will see these machines in forbidden west appearing, along with several other unknown machines.

Directors Mathijs de Jonge said that the game’s world is “a bit bigger” than that of the previous Horizon Zero Dawn, He also specified that the game’s subtitle refers to a region that stretches from Utah to the Pacific Ocean.
