To gain more from this opportunity Microsoft rolled out several updates to Microsoft teams. The newest update gives users to hide their private stuff in the background during video calls. Yesterday, Microsoft announced this newest feature via a blog post on its website. They said Microsoft Teams will let you use your own photos as background images on video calls. This is done to make the video calls more friendly and professional.
Today, we are announcing the rollout of new custom background effects in Teams, along with new features in the free version of Teams. It’s all about enabling you and your team to work productively, collaboratively, and with everyone’s well-being in mind – Mircosoft
Last year Microsoft announced the background blur feature and now they are providing custom inbuilt wallpapers to use as the background of video calls. You can use Microsoft provided wallpapers or your custom images such as selfie with office colleagues, office pictures, etc as a background wallpaper while video calls.
There’s no need to used a green screen or blank wall behind while video calls anymore. Microsoft teams new features will automatically differentiate the subject(You) from the background and will adjust the wallpaper instantly.
Before Microsoft, Video calls provider Zoom also rolled the features of using custom images as video call backgrounds. Despite many security concerns, Zoom’s popularity is continuously increasing. Apart from custom backgrounds meeting, Microsoft rolled out several other features to Microsoft teams free users such as:
- Unlimited chat and search
- Audio and video calling
- 10 GB team file storage and 2 GB personal file storage per person
- Scheduled meetings
- Ability to use the Office web apps (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and OneNote)
- Unlimited app integration with Microsoft meats.
