LAST UPDATED: June 25, 2020, 07:00 a.m. EST: From last three months, WhatsApp has testing several new features including “search in chat” and “Storage feature”. Now, the Social messaging app WhatsApp is reportedly testing animated stickers on Android and iOS. This information is leaked by WAbetainfo who works as a watchdog to WhatsApp changes. WAbetainfo says WhatsApp since acquired by Facebook continuously favoring changes to their appearance and features. This new Animated stickers testing is just an addition to these changes.
You need to update your WhatsApp version to the 2.20.194.7 Android beta and 2.20.70.26 iOS beta versions or newer updates, in order to view Animated Stickers. If you have already updated the Whatsapp and still don’t get the animated stickers option. Take Backup of the WhatsApp chat and history and reinstall the WhatsApp on your iOS or Android.
WhatsApp is always used to enable features in recent updates. Every time you reinstall WhatsApp, the most updated configurations from the server are downloaded, enabling the feature on your phone.
These animated stickers feature is not rolled out for everyone. WhatsApp is currently rolling this out for specific users only. So even after reinstalling WhatsApp, if you still don’t get the animated sticker option, all you can do is just wait. Whatsapp will soon launch it for all users.
Talking about the new animated feature, it consists of three parts:
- The possibility to view stickers. When you’re able to view animated stickers, you can save and send all received the stickers to your contacts.
- Possibility to import animated stickers from third parties. A lot of animated stickers creators are working to provide animated stickers bundle to be imported into WhatsApp.
- Possibility to download “default animated sticker” packs from the WhatsApp Store, currently available in the app.
Using animated stickers in messages is always fun and interesting. Hike, the next big rival to WhatsApp is totally based on Animated sticker’s idea. Whatsapp is trying to provide the same to users.
